If obesity is a disease of inflammation, resveratrol is one key piece of the anti-inflammatory puzzle.
Several lines of clinical evidence in human tissue explants have shown that resveratrol has potent anti-inflammatory effects on fat cells.
Specifically, resveratrol downregulates the secretion and gene expression of several harmful adipokines (IL6, IL8 and monocyte chemoattractant protein 1) and also decreases fat storage.
