Where should the bar go on the shoulders for front squats? Here's how to find out.
- Set up under the bar and put your hands straight out in the "Frankenstein" position. (The Frankenstein's monster position, if you want to get nitpicky.)
- Unrack the bar in that position, hands still out.
If it's in the right spot – against the neck on the meaty part of the delts – the bar should stay in place without using your hands. Now use that same position when you cross your arms or use the clean grip.
