Where should the bar go on the shoulders for front squats? Here's how to find out.
Set up under the bar and put your hands straight out in the "Frankenstein" position. (The Frankenstein's monster position, if you want to get nitpicky.)
Unrack the bar in that position, hands still out.
If it's in the right spot – against the neck on the meaty part of the delts – the bar should stay in place without using your hands. Now use that same position when you cross your arms or use the clean grip.
