Where should the bar go on the shoulders for front squats? Here's how to find out.
Set up under the bar and put your hands straight out in the "Frankenstein" position. (The Frankenstein's monster position, if you want to get nitpicky.)
Unrack the bar in that position, hands still out.
If it's in the right spot – against the neck on the meaty part of the delts – the bar should stay in place without using your hands. Now use that same position when you cross your arms or use the clean grip.
It's that time of year again. The most dedicated and hardcore lifters are still in the gym for two hours a day, six days per week, while the rest of us (a.k.a. the non-loser majority) are facing a time-crunched, often unavoidable four to six week period packed full of bullshit shopping, crowded malls, kick ass family get-togethers, boring-as-all-hell family get-togethers, parties with friends, parties with co-workers, parties that you just crashed, and hangovers.
